Background

My name is Natasha Lee and I study at the Royal Veterinary College in UK. I have lived in Hong Kong my whole life and am currently a part of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Youth Equestrian Squad. When I’m not at school and riding, I also enjoy playing various ball sports such as volleyball, basketball and softball. I also enjoy photography and editing videos.

My parents own a few racehorses and I always had to go the Sunday races with them, which eventually led to me asking them if I could start horse riding. I started when I was nine years old at International Riding Centre, where I rode once a week. This slowly increased until I started competing in the Children's Challenge Cup. After competing, I met many different riders from the other riding schools and I remember wanting to be like them, who were already constantly competing in the bigger classes at Beas River. My mom decided that if I wanted to keep improving, I should switch stables. I moved to Beas River Equestrian Centre in the beginning of 2017 and started seriously competing, doing 80cm and 90 cm classes.

I currently have two horses: Cecanto in Netherlands and Iris in Hong Kong, who I ride along with different pool horses from BREC. Some pool horses that I have competed and ridden include Queen Dragon, All Chances, Auspicious Start and Real Fit. Competing for Hong Kong, most of the competitions are on borrowed horses, so it's very important that I can recognise how to ride different types of horses and to be versatile. I am extremely fortunate that I have been able to train and compete in countries such as Thailand, Beijing, Taiwan, Germany and Netherlands. Due to my parent’s continuous support, I feel like I have been able to achieve more than I even dreamed of, including getting my certificate of capabilities for the Hong Kong representative selection trial to the Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Thailand.
