The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation (HKEF) is dedicated to increasing the awareness of equestrian sports amongst the Hong Kong public through its School Visits to Riding School and Pony Ride Programme, which has been in operation since 2007.
Subsidised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and supported by Tuen Mun Public Riding School, the programme promotes equestrian sports to local younger generations – particularly students from primary, secondary and special schools. A Pilot Programme ran during the 2006 – 2007 season, followed by the official launch of the programme, offering opportunities for students to break free from their traditional learning environment, gain exposure to equestrianism, and enhance their understanding while developing an interest in the sport.
Since the start of the programme, over 300 schools and 16,000 students have been invited to participate, proving it to be a popular and rewarding event for students. The HKEF looks forward to providing more opportunities to educate and promote the sport in the future.
