Hong Kong Team winning the Jumping Team Gold Medal at Asian Championships Pattaya 2019!
Following the dressage and eventing competitions at the Asian Championships Pattaya 2019, the jumping competitions continued with the Team Round 2 Competition which is the final round determining the team medals today (Friday 6 December 2019) at the Thai Polo Equestrian Club.
Kenneth Cheng, Jacqueline Lai, Patrick Lam and Raena Leung forming the Hong Kong team competed against 5 other teams from Korea, Kuwait, Philippines, Thailand and Uzbekistan. The final placings were determined by adding the penalties incurred by the best three riders in each team in the first competition on Wednesday 4 December 2019, and in each of the two rounds of the second competition held yesterday and today.
Continuing the lead with 18.55 penalties from yesterday, four Hong Kong riders had fantastic rounds today, bringing the team the Gold Medal with the least penalties of 18.55. The Silver Medal went to Philippines with 45.15 penalties, while the Bronze Medal was taken by Kuwait with 45.36 penalties.
25 best placed riders after the first and second competitions will proceed to the Round A of the third and final competition on Sunday 8 December 2019. They will be competing for the final 12 places at the Round B competition on the same day. We are thrilled to have all our 4 jumping riders qualified to the Individual Final by placing on the top 25 after the team competitions.
