End of the Dressage Season 2016 - 2017

 

The HKEF Dressage Horse of the Year Show 2017 (The Dressage HOY) concluded on Saturday – Sunday, April 1-2 at The Hong Kong Jockey Club Beas River Equestrian Centre (BREC). This year, the event has attracted a record-breaking number of 104 entries and over 140 spectators in total.

 

The Dressage HOY is an award for the best performing Dressage horse-rider combination of the season. Points are accumulated for each horse-rider combination in their eligible level in all HKEF graded competitions and FEI competitions which is held in Hong Kong.

 

The Saturday’s competition began with Dressage Preliminary Class and followed by Dressage Medium Class. Sunday’s competition began with Dressage Novice Class and followed by Dressage Elementary Class. The final game was Dressage Advance Class. After 2 days of competition, the HKEF awarded riders who was an overall champion in each class and scored highest in each competition.

 

The Preliminary Class awarded to representative of Lo Wu Saddle Club, Christian Allderidge and Charlie Victor on the score of 128.54%. Boris Yue with Sunny Smiles from Lei Yue Mun Public Riding school was the overall champion of Elementary class with a score of 125.19%. The combinations from Beas River Equestrian Center, Melinda Ma with Telecom Supreme won the novice class overall champion with a score of 129.14%. Meanwhile, Joanne Wong with Friendship won the medium class champion with 108.85%. The winners all put on an incredible display of riding and horsemanship throughout the Dressage Horse of the Year show.
