Background
With aspirations to pursue a career with animals, my love for horses was inevitable. At the age of 11, I was lucky enough to be able to join a summer lead rein class that kick started my career as an equestrian. From then, my enthusiasm for the sport only grew as I was encouraged to partake in the HKEF inter-schools. Drawn in by the competitive aspect of the sport, and with the ongoing support from my parents and the instructors at Lo Wu Saddle Club, I started competing in local shows.
During my time riding, I was given the opportunity to train and compete off-the-track thoroughbreds. This not only introduced a challenge of the sport, but also the immensely rewarding experience of working in a partnership with an animal. My fondness for riding only grew as my horse and I took part in our first event. Never having competed in cross country before, I was uncertain. But as I saw my horse thrive in this new environment, I learned to enjoy the dynamics of the discipline, spurring my ambition to pursue eventing professionally, taking on new levels, with hopes of representing Hong Kong internationally.
