Background
My name is Alanna Clements; I am a show jumper on the HKJC Hong Kong Elite Potential Squad. I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Edinburgh.
I started riding at Lo Wu Saddle Club when I was 5, before moving to Beas River Equestrian Center at 11 years old. At 12 years old I was lucky enough to loan my first pony, Blitz, I had him for over 2 years and competed in all disciplines.
In 2015 I moved to boarding school in England, where I got my first horse, Tinka’s Rox. This is when I decided to specialise in show jumping. He is an incredible horse that has taken me from jumping around 1-meter courses to jumping international 135cm classes.
After graduating secondary school in 2019, I decided to take a gap year to ride, I based myself at Arclid Farm in Cheshire with Angelie Von Essen and James Davenport. During my year there I acquired my second horse, Crème de la Crème 6 and was lucky enough to travel to Belgium and Spain to compete in international shows.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to compete for Hong Kong and would like to thank the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation and the Hong Kong Jockey Club for their support. I am looking forward for the new show season to start and hopefully I will be able achieve good results under the Hong Kong flag!
