Invitation for Expression of Interest as Rider & Coach for Workshop and Training Courses at the FEI SEA Youth Cup, Cambodia (29-31 Oct 2025)
The Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China (EFHKC) is delighted to announce that we have received an invitation from the Cambodian Equestrian Federation as below:

Details of the Workshop and Training Courses:
- Two days of dedicated workshops will be provided for the rider and coach. The topics are as follows:
- Topic 1: "How to improve a young athlete: ethical training methods": this workshop will be led by Jean-Philippe Camboulives. The focus will be on sustainable and ethical approaches to nurturing young talent, ensuring long-term success and well-being.
- Topic 2: "Horse well-being: CAM NF national coach, Daniela Moguel (5* eventing rider), will lead this session. She will share her expertise on best practices for equine welfare, emphasizing the importance of a healthy and happy horse for optimal performance.
- Following each workshop, participants will have the opportunity to apply their learning in practical Caprilli tests. These tests will be conducted on freshly retrained ex-racehorses. All performances will be filmed and debriefed in a collaborative session with Jean-Philippe and Daniela, providing valuable, personalised feedback to each rider and coach.
- The Caprilli test is designed to assess a rider's balanced seat and control over the horse. The format will be a straightforward test on the flat, incorporating small jumps (up to 60cm).The focus is on applying the principles from the workshops, and the emphasis will be on the educational value of the assessment rather than a formal competition.
- The workshops are supported by the FEI Solidarity development programme.
The following expenses of this trip will be covered:
- Economy airfare to and from Cambodia
- Hotel accommodation
- Lunch from Oct 30 to Nov 1 at the venue
- Gala dinner on Oct 30
- Airport transfers from the airport to the venue in Phnom Penh
- Cultural activities provided by the Cambodian Equestrian Federation
We are now looking for expressions of interest from interested riders and coaches who meet the following requirements:
- Rider must be an EFHKC member
- Rider must be an HKSAR passport holder
- Coach must be an EFHKC registered coach
The following criteria will be taken into account when making selection decisions on the rider:
- Suitability of the workshops as a development opportunity for the selected rider
- Current competition level on a variety of horses at the required level or above
- The most recent results will take precedence over historical results
- All riders must learn and master the attached Caprilli course before arriving in Cambodia
Should any EFHKC member have the interest to participate/ be the Coach at the captioned event, please kindly submit the following items via email to [email protected] by 3:00 p.m., Monday, 20 October 2025.
- Passport Copy
- A half-length photo for publicity purpose (wearing show jacket is preferred)
- Three best official result sheets in recent one year, results sheets must be submitted with the video of the round (Applicable to riders only)
- Other training/ competition videos if any (Applicable to riders only)
- Letter of support and recommendation from current coach (Applicable to riders only)
- Curriculum Vitae including qualifications and experience (Applicable to coaches only)
EFHKC may request applicants to provide additional information once the competition level is confirmed or if any further details about the application are deemed relevant.
Any late submission or submission with missing document(s) received by EFHKC Secretariat will not be processed. We look forward to receiving your application.
