Dear members,

Open for Applications: Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan – Youth Development Programme 2019/2020

The HKEF is thrilled to announce some exciting developments on the support to potential young talents. Due to excellent results from both our Junior and Senior athletes last year, the Hong Kong Sports Institute have awarded equestrian a “Tier A” Status, giving us an opportunity to review the athlete pathway and make some exciting changes for youth sport.

This year, the traditional JETS programme will be replaced with the Hong Kong Youth Squad, extending the age range to 12 to 25 years old and increasing the number of places to twelve athletes. In addition to the Youth Squad, two new programmes have been developed. The Children’s Squad caters for 10 to 14 year-olds in Hong Kong and is designed for those showing early talent, with the aim of nurturing children who show potential for development on to the Youth programme. Twelve spaces are available and selected athletes will receive weekly trainings. Five new places on an overseas Youth Squad were also introduced, which welcome applications from athletes aged from 12 to 25 years old who are based overseas and actively competing.

With the HKSI confirming their funding support, applications are now open for these three programmes. Attached please find the full programme details for your information. If you have difficulties in opening the attachments, you may also download the details from the below google link:
