Dear members,

OLYMPICS UPDATES – Hong Kong Eventing Horse passed the 1st Horse Inspection at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games today

Thursday, 29 July 2021 (Hong Kong) – The 1st Horse Inspection for all Olympic Eventing horses took place this morning at Baji Koen Equestrian Park, Tokyo. Tayberry, horse of the Hong Kong Equestrian rider Thomas Ho, has passed the trot up.

Tayberry is a long-time partner of Thomas and also a gift from his father after his debut and team bronze at the 2014 Asian Games. The pair qualified twice for the Games due to the one-year delay. Together they will start the Eventing competition of the Olympic Games, with dressage phase on Friday 30 July, cross-country and jumping afterwards.

“I am so proud that I am representing Hong Kong in Eventing on the world stage,” said Thomas. “The medals that have been won by Hong Kong are inspiring me to look to the future of being an Olympian. This is my first Olympics with my horse and the experience I get from this games will be invaluable in my dream to represent Hong Kong again at future Olympics.”

Thomas and Tayberry will be competing against 62 combinations over the 2 days for dressage. They will be the 21st pair showing up for the Dressage phase on Friday 30 July at 9:50am (GMT+8). Attached please find the Order to Go for dressage phase.
