Dear members,

The CSIJ-B Bangkok @ The Princess Cup 2019 will be held next week from 17 – 20 November 2019 (Sun – Wed) at The Royal Stable Unit and the Royal Horse Guard, Bangkok, Thailand.

The Hong Kong Team, comprising our three riders Natasha Lee, Owen Wong and Aden Yeung and team coach Mr. Christian Allderidge, will be departing to Thailand on 17 November 2019 for the competition, getting ready to compete against 48 riders from 15 countries.

The Team will be participating in two competitions at the event, including a Friendly Team Competition (100cm) on 19 Nov 2019 and the CSIJ-B (110cm) on 20 Nov 2019. The team competition on the first day will be held against the clock without jump-off. Placings will be determined by the total penalties of each rider, followed by the time taken to complete the round. The Individual competition on the second day will be open to riders completing the previous competition and will be against the clock with jump-off. Fastest time with less penalties will determine the winner.

This is the first attempt for all three riders to represent and compete for Hong Kong at international competition. Having the experience riding on borrowed horses at the 2nd National Youth Games in August, all three riders surely gained confidence in preparing for this competition.

Established by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, the Princess’s Cup Thailand aims to promote equestrian sport through inviting riders worldwide to participate at the competition. Since 2017, Hong Kong was invited to join this most anticipated annual equestrian event in Bangkok. Last year, we had Amber Khaira, Bryan Lam and Claudia Wrobel as our representatives competing against 31 riders. Bryan Lam had the best result among the three riders and at the end, he was placed 10th at the CSIJ-B Individual Competition.

We wish the Hong Kong team all the best of luck at the CSIJ-B Bangkok @ The Princess Cup 2019!

Best Regards,

Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
