Dear members,

Monday, 5 August 2019 (Hong Kong) – The 2nd National Youth Games Junior Dressage Individual Final was held at the YuLong Jockey Club yesterday. Natalie Fu riding Fatty and Melissa Young with UB Bidou Manciais competed against 18 other finalists from Beijing, Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Shanghai, Shanxi, Xinjiang and Zhejiang at the FEI Dressage World Challenge Preliminary Test. Placings were determined by the percentage scores at the competition.

Both of our Hong Kong riders competed the test smoothly. Melissa Young with UB Bidou Manciais placed 13th with 64.54% and Natalie Fu riding on Fatty achieved 63.33% on the 16th place.

Guo Rui-jie from Shanghai took home the Junior Dressage Individual Final Gold Medal with 69.77%. Riders from Xinjiang with 69.42% and Shanxi with 68.68% won the Silver and Bronze Medals respectively.

It was the first time that equestrian events were included in the National Youth Games, and we were proud to see both riders attaining such satisfactory results at the competition.

Once again, the HKEF would like to thank Melissa Young and Natalie Fu together with Hermes and Charmaine and their coach Gary Johnston for their efforts to represent Hong Kong at the competition. Please find the attached Junior Dressage Individual Final result for reference.

Today the Senior Dressage Individual Final will be held, Samantha Chan and Annabel Dyson will again represent Hong Kong and presenting the FEI Dressage World Challenge Elementary Test. For the running order of the competition, please refer to the attachment.

All the best to Samantha and Annabel.
