HKEF Fence Judges’ Seminar as preparation of CCI1*

Dear members,

To nurture potential new fence judges as well as to provide refresher knowledge to all existing fence judges, a Fence Judges’ Seminar organized by the HKEF and supported by the HKJC was held on last Saturday 7 September at Beas River Equestrian Centre.

Mr. Andrew Hunter (GBR), the appointed Course Builder for the CCI1* scheduled from 13 – 15 December in Hong Kong, Mr. James Pearson, Technical Delegate for the CCI1* in Hong Kong and Mr. Joss Gray, Senior Eventing Coach of HKJC were the speakers of the seminar.

Mr. Gray kicked off the Seminar by sharing with participants the overall preparation work and qualification for the CCI1* scheduled in December, followed by a detailed introduction to the cross country course plan of the CCI1*. Mr. Hunter then provided an introduction of a fence judge’s role to potential new comers as well as to share the most updated knowledge on fence judging to all existing eventing officials. At the later part of the seminar, different scenarios of fence judging at Cross Country Competitions were discussed among all participants and Mr. Pearson.

The HKEF would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Andrew Hunter, Mr. Joss Gray and Mr. James Pearson for making this Seminar possible and fruitful. Our thanks also goes to all enthusiastic participants for their support to the activity.

This seminar was part of our preparation of the CCI1* scheduled from 13 to 14 December, 2019. Please stay tune for more updates on the CCI1*. Our recruitment of fence judges for the CCI1* will be announced shortly.

Best Regards,

Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
