HK Equestrian Team completed the Dressage Senior Team Final today,
Samantha Chan and Annabel Dyson qualified the Dressage Individual Final
Dear members,
Saturday, 3 August 2019 (Hong Kong) – Following yesterday’s Junior Dressage Team Competition, the Senior Dressage Team Final/Individual Qualification was held today at the YuLong Jockey Club. The competition also served as the qualifier for the Individual Final scheduled on 5 August 2019 (Monday).
Using the FEI Dressage World Challenge Preliminary Test, our Senior Dressage Team competed against 6 other teams from Beijing, Guangdong, Hebei, Shanghai, Xinjiang and Zhejiang. Placings were based on the accumulated percentage scores of the 3 best riders in each team.
Being the only team using borrowed horses with the generous support of the R&D Riding Club, all four HK riders still managed to complete the test satisfactorily. Samantha Chan and G. Xiao Liang Liang finished the competition beautifully with a percentage of 70.46% and placed 2nd, Annabel Dyson riding California Sun Shine placed equal 19th with 62.93% together with Pei Lang-tong from Beijing, while Daniella Lin with Puetro Rico scored 61.44% and Claudia Wrobel with No Limit VXV attained 55.57%. At the end of the competition, Hong Kong Team placed 5th in the overall team ranking. The first place went to Guangdong Team at 213.33%, followed by Zhejiang Team with 198.62% and Hebei Team at 196.32%.
We were thrilled to see both Samantha Chan and Annabel Dyson qualified for the Individual Final scheduled on 5 August 2019 (Monday) by placing on top 20 riders. Samantha Chan’s scores at 70.46% ranked 2nd in the overall ranking among all competitors.
The HKEF would like to thank all four Senior Dressage riders, namely Samantha Chan, Annabel Dyson, Daniella Lin and Claudia Wrobel for their efforts to represent Hong Kong at the National Youth Games. At the same time we wish Samantha and Annabel the best of luck at the Senior Dressage Individual Final.
Tomorrow the Junior Dressage Individual Final will be held, both Natalie Fu and Melissa Young will once again represent Hong Kong and presenting FEI Dressage World Challenge Elementary Test.
