Dear members,

We are pleased to announce that with the generous support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and EEM, HKEF will be organising the HKJC Asian Junior Challenge at the 2020 Longines Masters. The format of the class is anticipated to be as follows:

- Six invited riders from Asian Equestrian Federations

- Three riders from Hong Kong

- First round competition on Saturday morning, 15th February at maximum height of  1.10m

- Second round competition on Sunday morning, 16th February at maximum height of 1.20m

The invited riders from overseas will use horses borrowed from EEM and HK riders will need to provide their own horses, or ones borrowed from our local riding schools. The HK horses will be stabled at the Asia Expo venue from Monday 10th February and will be required to spend two weeks in quarantine at Shatin post the competition. HKEF and HKJC will provide full support for the HK horses as they acclimatise to this unfamiliar environment and will also cover the quarantine costs and associated logistics.

Therefore, we are looking for expressions of interest from HKEF junior riders who would like to take part in this unique competition.

Key selection criteria are as follows:

- Aged 14 to 18 (Year of Birth: 2002-2006)

- Member of HKEF

- Confirmation of suitable horse (horse with competition results at 1.10 – 1.20m)

- Competition results at jumping 1.05m or above, and training at home over minimum 1.10 – 1.20m)

- Able to spend significant time at the Asia Expo venue from Monday 10th Feb onwards for training purposes
