The Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China is pleased to announce the Hong Kong Jockey Club Asian Youth Challenge CSIJ International Competition that will be held at The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show, from January 30th – 1st February 2026, at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. The height is tentatively scheduled at around 1.10m. This presents a wonderful opportunity for local riders to participate in one of the highest-profile sporting events in Hong Kong, and to compete against an international field made up of riders from across Asia.
We are now inviting riders to express their interest in participating in this event. If you meet the following basic criteria and would like to be considered for selection, please submit your interest via the Google Form (https://forms.gle/svN5xuSxJNDXWBvM6) by 17th November 2025.
Basic Criteria:
- An EFHKC member
- A Hong Kong passport holder (aged 14 – 18, born 2008 - 2012)
- Access to a horse in Hong Kong (either own horse, in full livery or sanctioned by local riding schools) Please note – any horse arrangements will be at the rider’s own costs.
- A letter of support from an EFHKC registered coach to confirm the suitability of the horse/rider combination for this event at 1.1m, taking place indoors and in a high-pressure atmosphere
- Commitment to undertake pre-training sessions at designated centres in Hong Kong where required
- The selection will consider results of the horse/rider combination and results of the riders and horses independently during the 2025/ 2026 season. Riders and horses historical records will be considered, however, recent results will take precedence.
- Riders will be encouraged to attend the competitions in January 2026
- Participation will be limited to 6 combinations in Hong Kong (subject to further review and available horse power)
- Selected combinations will be required to attend all training sessions from Wednesday 28th January at the AsiaWorld-Expo
- Selected combinations will be expected to assist with the care and turn their horse out to a high standard
Please note that due to the horse quarantine requirements, the selected horses will be away from their regular stables for approximately three weeks, including participation and 14-day quarantine after the event, which will take place in the Shatin quarantine stables. Riders should obtain permission from their riding centres before submitting their expression of interest. Quarantine stable costs shall be sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
