Dear members,

The HKEF is pleased to announce the completion of the HKEF Inter-school Equestrian Challenge 2022 (Higher Division) competition with the conclusion of the judging process.

Although the lengthy period of restrictions and school suspensions meant that the Lower Division could not be held, this year’s Higher Division competition again adopted  a video submission format (which had worked well in 2021), allowing participants to compete at their usual riding schools.

The collected videos of dressage and jumping, expertly judged by Suzanne Baker and Possum Richards, revealed some excellent riding and outstanding performances.

A total of 13 riders from 10 schools completed both the Ingestre Preliminary Dressage Test 8 (2015) and a course of jumps up to 80 cm. Ashely Gale from Chinese International School (CIS) was the Individual Overall winner with the highest combined score of 161.48. Sarah Broderick from Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK) came second with 159.17, followed by Evie Sum from Renaissance College (RCHK) and India Gray from International College Hong Kong (ICHK) on equal third place with 157.52. The top 3 riders will receive cash prices to be used towards an approved programme of training of their choice.

The top five riders in each discipline also receive special recognition:

Dressage

Showjumping

Horse & Hound Hong Kong – Hong Kong’s newest equestrian apparel and tack shop – has also kindly sponsored a number of generous prizes for the top three riders in each discipline as well as a HK$200 voucher for all participants.

For a full list of results and prizes, please refer to the HKEF website.

The HKEF would like to congratulate all riders on their achievements, and especially for their resilience and determination. We would also like to thank the participating riding schools, parents and officials – especially our judges, Suzanne Baker and Possum Richards – for making the competition possible.

We look forward to a great competition next season!

With very best regards,

Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
