Dear members,

Completion of HKEF online sharing session on “Introduction to Jumping Course Design II”

Following the positive feedback from the previous session, the second online session on “Introduction to Course Design II” by Mr. Michael Sin was held this afternoon.

Being one of our national Jumping Course Designers as well as an FEI Level 2 Jumping Course Designer, Michael designs more than 200 local and local international courses every year. Apart from local jumping courses design, he was the Assistant Course Designer in different major international events over the years, such as the FEI Children’s International Classics Final 2011, the CSI5* Longines Masters of Hong Kong (2014 – 2019) as well as the 2nd Asian Equestrian Federation Junior Jumping Championship in 2017, etc.

Further to the introduction provided in the first session on 31 October 2020, the second session focused on the practical side of a Jumping Course Designer. During the session, Michael explained his working procedures from receiving a show schedule from a Show Organizer, the jumping course design work on the computer software until the actual building of jumps at the competition venue. All behind-the-scene information gave us a better understanding on the actual work of a Jumping Course Designer and the necessary knowledge and time required to fulfil the job.

The HKEF would like to thank Michael for his sharing and effort in preparing for the captioned sessions. We hope our members have enjoyed the sessions and gained more knowledge on jumping course design. Please feel free to share with us any suggestions or ideas for the upcoming online sessions by replying this email. We would love to receive your opinion to provide a variety of contents.

Thank you for your attention and have a nice weekend.

Best Regards,

Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
