Completion of HKEF online session on “Introduction to Dressage Freestyle”
Since the beginning of October, various online sharing sessions on different aspects of equestrian sports were organized by the HKEF with the support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department for our riders, members and officials. The latest online session on “Introduction to Dressage Freestyle” by HKJC Senior Dressage Coach Mr. Stéphane Morai was completed this afternoon.
Stéphane came from Belgium and has been riding since childhood. He qualified as BEREITER FN Professional Rider and Trainer in Germany. Before moving to Hong Kong, he was the Director of the prestigious riding center, Royal Etrier Belge in Brussels and he also run his own Riding Academy there. Stéphane is currently working as HKJC Senior Dressage Coach at Beas River Equestrian Centre. He was appointed as Senior Dressage Coach at the 2nd National Youth Games 2019 and trained Samantha Chan to win the Senior Dressage Individual Bronze Medal with the high score of 70.810%.
The online sharing began with an introduction to this competition format, followed by a brief guidance on how to make a freestyle test and the use of music. Example videos of different riders were also demonstrated at the end of the sharing with a Q&A session.
The HKEF would like to thank Stéphane for his time and effort in preparing for the sharing session. With the increasing popularity on Dressage Freestyle, we expect there will be more freestyle classes in Hong Kong in the future.
