Dear members,

HKEF is currently implementing a Safeguarding Policy to provide children and vulnerable adults with appropriate care while they are taking part in equestrian activities. An online safeguarding training for all members and relevant persons was held this afternoon. Ms. Kristina Novak and Ms. Kazette Chan from Viva Hong Kong, the working partner of HKEF on the Safeguarding Policy, were the speakers at the Training.

The training focused on the introduction to child protection and safeguarding, stressing the importance and the responsibility of all in ensuring the welfare and rights of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Definition of abuses, symptoms and behaviour of people being abused were identified for possible abuse scenarios. The HKEF Safeguarding policy and communication flow were also illustrated in the later part of the training.

Over the past few months HKEF has engaged Viva Hong Kong to work with HKEF in implementing a Safeguarding Policy. This is expected to be brought into effect soon. Meanwhile, the HKEF would like to thank all members who have attended the training this afternoon.  We were glad to see that nearly 100 members attended the training session.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to working with you all on such an important topic of safeguarding.

Best Regards,
Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
