Appointment of Ms. Masami Toda as

Executive Director of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation (HKEF)

 

 

The Executive Committee of the HKEF is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Masami Toda as Executive Director.  Effective 9th January 2023, Masami will lead the HKEF and support the Executive Committee in the further development of equestrian sports in Hong Kong.

 

Masami is a senior executive with 20+ years management experience as Senior Leader in Greater China with a Multi-National Company in the pet industry, and recently set up an omnichannel business from inception for a University Veterinary Health Group.  Masami is recognized for her skills in operational management, strategic thinking, business development and talent development. She has led numerous start-ups and business transformations across Greater China bringing organizations to the next level of growth.

 

Masami was born and raised in Hong Kong and is an enthusiastic horse lover. Earlier in her career, she worked for the Hong Kong Jockey Club in the retraining of ex-racehorses, and has represented Hong Kong as Rider and Official in International events.  Eventing is Masami’s favourite discipline, she has trained with Andrew Scott in New Zealand, and Clayton Fredericks in the UK.  Her biggest equestrian achievement was Team 4th & Individual 8th at the 14th Asian Games 3-Day Event in Busan.  After retiring as an athlete, Masami was actively involved in serving the equestrian community, she was a listed Dressage judge of the HKEF; Steward, Dressage Writer & Secretary to Jumping Ground Jury at the Beijing Olympics, and Deputy Chef d’Equipe of Team Hong Kong at the 16th Asian Games.

 

The Executive Committee would also like to announce the departure of Ms. Angela Kong. Angela joined the HKEF in 2010 as General Manager and served as Secretary General from 2013 overseeing the HKEF office. She has also served in national and FEI official positions. Angela will be leaving to pursue other interests and Masami will be taking over her responsibilities. We thank Angela for her many contributions to our sport and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
