4. Overall Horse of the Year Award

The Overall Horse of the Year Award, also named the Helen Griffiths Memorial Trophy, is an award for the best perfoming horse that has competed in all three disciplines (Jumping, Dressage & Eventing) during the season. This Overall Horse of the Year Award will be awarded to the horse which has the highest combined ranking according to the ranking lists of the three individual disciplines.

Should there be a tie in the combined ranking at the end of a season, the horses tied in first place will be declared the joint winners of the award.

5. Junior Rider of the Year Award

The Junior Rider of the Year Award, also named the Jose Remedios Memorial Trophy, is an award of the best performing junior rider who is 18 years of age or under on 1 September on the year of the start of the season. Points are accumulated for junior riders in all HKEF affiliated competitions and FEI competitions held in Hong Kong. Junior riders score the points according to the point systems for the 3 discipline awards above. The Junior Rider of the Year Award will be awarded to the junior rider who has the highest score throughout the season.

Should there be a tie at the end of a season, the riders tied in first place will declared the joint winners of the award.

6. Grimshaw Plate

This is an award for the winner of the top class in Jumping at the Horse of the Year Show. The Grimshaw Plate was named after the founder of the Hong Kong Horse Society late renamed the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation in 1999 and the first manager of Beas River, the late Major A. Grimshaw.

7. Wrinklies Rice Bowl

This is an award for the winner who is 40 years of age or above in the class named Wrinklies Rice Bowl Competition at the Jumping Horse of the Year Show.

8. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best Retired Racehorse Award

This is an award for the best retired racehorse that has competed in all three disciplines (Jumping, Dressage & Eventing) during the season. This Best Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the retired racehorse which has the highest combined HOY ranking according to the ranking lists of the three individual disciplines. Should there be a tie in the combined ranking at the end of the season, the retired racehorses tied for first place will be declared the joint winner for the award.

9. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award

This is an award for the best ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) in each of the disciplines (Jumping, Dressage or Eventing) during their first graded competition season in that discipline. A Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) which achieved the highest placing among the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorses according to the HOY ranking list before the end of its first graded competition season in the respective discipline.
