The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation and The Hong Kong Jockey Club are delighted to provide advanced notification on the 2018 application process for the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan (HKEPP). January 2018 will be the start of the third year of the programme, which provides a structured development programme to high performing equestrian athletes within the disciplines of dressage, eventing show jumping and para dressage.
The programme will provide support and guidance to athletes who demonstrate commitment, have proven competitive performance and have the potential to deliver success for Hong Kong at championship level. The principles of the HKEPP are to Identify, Develop and Deliver.
The programme will be supported by equestrian professionals who will mentor athletes, monitor performance and seek improvements where they can be found. Working with the home teams already in place around the riders and horses, the HKEPP personnel will provide individually designed support programmes to help improve performance.
As in accordance with the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan (HKEPP) Selection Policy, this notice is to inform all interested parties that The Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation have agreed to amend the Selection Policy for the HKEPP programme in 2018. This change is to broaden the opportunities for athletes to apply for the programme. It introduces a second entry point in to the year, allowing for athletes to apply for either the development or elite squads, joining the programme mid-way through the year in July. Details are included in the published amended Selection Policy. Any queries should be directed to Ms. Amanda Bond at email@example.com. Application details for round two applications will be published nearer the time.
