In just two weeks our season’s finale – Dressage Horse of the Year Show 2019 will be held from 18-19 May 2019, Saturday-Sunday at Beas River Equestrian Centre. We will find out all the winners of the nine annual Season End Awards soon!

 

After the first two events of the Horse of the Year Show 2018/19, namely the Eventing Horse of the Year Show 2019 (30 March 2019) and LONGINES Jumping Horse of the Year Show 2019 (27 April 2019), we are pleased to announce that both the Eventing Horse of the Year Award and Jumping Horse of the Year Award 2018/19 belong to Gabby Thomas and Emerald Butterfly from Lo Wu Saddle Club!

 

At the LONGINES Jumping Horse of the Year Show that has just been held during the last weekend, congratulations went to Li Sai Wing and Add the Fun who won the Wrinklies Rice Bowl 2018/19, Claudia Wrobel with Real Fit who topped the LONGINES Jumping Class with two rounds (110cm) and Vincent Capol with Angel 259 who claimed the top place at the CSI1* Grand Prix/Grimshaw Plate (120cm) sponsored by LONGINES. Congratulations also go to the Overall Winner of the FEI Jumping World Challenge 2018 Category A – Vincent Capol with Angel 259 and Category C – Michelle Li with World Series. All the above prizes will be awarded to the winners at the End of Season Celebration Dinner at the Arena Room, the New Club House on 25 May 2019 (Sat).

 

 

 

Dressage HOY Leader Board as of 7 April 2019

 

Dressage Horse of the Year Award is an award for the best performing Dressage horse-rider combination of the season. Points are accumulated for each horse-rider combination at their *eligible level in All HKEF graded competitions and FEI competitions held in Hong Kong with the sum of maximum five best results during the season.

 

 

 

Samantha Chan with Luciano stays at the top of the leader board with 30 points, chased by Lei Yue Mun Public Riding School’s Martina Trommershausen on Precision Era, carrying with 29 points. Charmaine Fu with Don Le Beau stand on the 3rd place with 26 points.

 

 

 

The upcoming competition is the HOYS Dressage Warm Up Show on the upcoming Saturday & Sunday, 4-5 May 2019. We wish all riders the best of luck and we look forward to witnessing the crowing of the Winner of the Dressage Horse of the Year Award 2018/19!

Information of the New Awards sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best Retired Racehorse Award is an award for the best retired racehorse that has competed in all three disciplines (Jumping, Dressage & Eventing) during the season. This Best Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the retired racehorse which has the highest combined HOY ranking according to the ranking lists of the three individual disciplines. Should there be a tie in the combined ranking at the end of the season, the retired racehorses tied for first place will be declared the joint winner for the award.

Meanwhile, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award is an award for the best ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) in each of the disciplines (Jumping, Dressage or Eventing) during their first graded competition season in that discipline. A Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) which achieved the highest placing among the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorses according to the HOY ranking list before the end of its first graded competition season in the respective discipline.
