Vincent Zi-Xiang Capol awarded with Certificate of Merit under the Sports for Hope Foundation Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards


Dear members,

Organized by the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), sponsored by the Sports for Hope Foundation (SFHF) and supported by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and the Hong Kong Sports Press Association (HKSPA), the Annual Celebration and 4th Quarter Presentation Ceremony of the Sports for Hope Foundation Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards 2018 (OJAA) was held at the HKSI Main Building on 14 March 2019 (last Thursday). We are glad to share with you that our Hong Kong junior rider, Vincent Zi-Xiang Capol was awarded with the Certificate of Merit at the ceremony. He received the certificate from Dr. Trisha Leahy BBS, Chief Executive of the HKSI.

The OJAA is an award presented on a quarterly basis, with the aim to recognize the achievements of outstanding local junior athletes under the age of 19. While cash prize and sports voucher with certificates are offered to the awardees of the award, Certificates of Merit are presented to nominated athletes who are not selected for the awards but have achieved point-3 results according to the Elite Vote Scoring Table of the specific sport to as a token of appreciation to their efforts. Vincent was the winner at the CSIJ Hong Kong 2018 in November last year, competing against 13 junior riders from Cambodia, India, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Hong Kong. In 2017, Hong Kong junior rider Nathaniel Chan was one of the awardees of the OJAA.
