Our Horse of the Year Show this year will soon be kicked off by the Eventing Horse of the Year Show on 30 March 2019 (Sat), followed by the Longines Jumping Horse of the Year Show (CSI1*) on 27 April 2019 (Sat) and the finale is the Dressage Horse of the Year Show on 18 & 19 May 2019 (Sat to Sun). Every year, we will host the End of Season Awards Ceremony and Celebration Dinner at the end of the Horse of the Year Show and present our Horse of the Year Awards.

Please be informed that our annual End of Season Awards Ceremony and Celebration Dinner this year will be held on 25 May 2019 (Saturday) at the Arena Room, New Club House, Beas River Country Club.

At the End of Season Awards Ceremony, the Horse of the Year Perpetual Trophies and the FEI World Jumping Challenge 2018 Overall Winners’ Awards will be presented.

The Horse of the Year Perpetual Trophies are as follows:

1.         Good King Cup (Jumping Horse of  the Year Award): the best-performing Jumping horse-rider combination in the season of 2018/19

2.         Dragon Hall Dressage Trophy (Dressage Horse of the Year Award): the best-performing Dressage horse-rider combination in the season of 2018/19

3.         Eventing Horse of the Year Award: the best-performing Eventing horse-rider combination in the season of 2018/19

4.         Helen Griffiths Memorial Trophy: the best-performing horse in the season of 2018/19 that has competed in all three disciplines (Jumping, Dressage and Eventing)

5.         LONGINES Grimshaw Plate: the winner of LONGINES Grimshaw Plate (120 cm) in the LONGINES Jumping Horse of the Year Show 2019

6.         Jose Remedios Memorial Trophy (Junior Rider of the Year Award) & HK$2,000 cash sponsored by LONGINES: the best-performing junior rider who is 18 years of age or under on 1 September 2019 in the season of 2018/19

7.         LONGINES Wrinklies Rice Bowl: the winner who is 40 years of age or above in the class named LONGINES Wrinklies Rice Bowl Competition (70 cm) at the LONGINES Jumping Horse of the Year Show 2019

On top of the above seven classical awards presented every year, there are two New Awards sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club in the 2018/19 season, namely The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best Retired Racehorse Award and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award.

8.         The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best Retired Racehorse Award: the best retired racehorse that has competed in all three disciplines (Jumping, Dressage & Eventing) during the season with the highest combined HOY ranking according to the ranking lists of the three individual disciplines

9.         The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award:  the best ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) in each of the disciplines (Jumping, Dressage or Eventing) during their first graded competition season in that discipline. A Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) which achieved the highest placing among the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorses according to the HOY ranking list before the end of its first graded competition season in the respective discipline

At the Ceremony, the FEI World Jumping Challenge 2018 Overall Winners’ Awards will also be presented.
