Reaching its 41st edition, the FEI JUMPING World Challenge series offers a chance for emerging Jumping riders around the world to compete in an international competition without leaving their country. As a federation dedicated in nurturing future local equestrian talents, the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation is pleased to continue organizing three competitions for our FEI Jumping World Challenge 2019 in Hong Kong.

 

Supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), organized by the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation (HKEF), the FEI Jumping World Challenge 2019 (Hong Kong) –1st Competition was successfully held over this weekend from 2 – 3 March 2019 (Sat – Sun) at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Beas River Equestrian Centre. 19 riders from different riding schools competed at the event, in which 15 competed for Category C (1.00 – 1.10m), 3 competed for Category B (1.10 – 1.20m) and 1 competed for Category A (1.20 – 1.30m).

 

By combining the penalty points in Round 1 (2 March 2019) and Round 2 (3 March 2019), Cecilia Chan with All Chances won the first place of Category C with only 4 penalty points, followed by Michelle Li  riding World Series (2nd Place) and Natalie Walker with Quick Money(3rd Place).

 

For Category B, Gabby Thomas with Emerald Butterfly claimed the first place by achieving a superb double clear round . Meanwhile, the sole competitor in the Category A class, Vincent Capol with Angel 259 also achieved a double clear round.

 

The winner of Best Turn-out Award belonged to Emerald Butterfly ridden Gabby Thomas. A cash prize was presented at the prize giving as a token of appreciation.

During two days of the event, over 500 spectators from different visiting groups and the public witnessed the exciting competitions. They were also invited to play at various game booths and meet-and-greet with two adorable Shetland ponies at specific time of the day.
