Patrick Lam won the First Leg of 2019 LONGINES FEI Jumping World CupT – China League (28 April – 1 May 2019, Sunday to Wednesday)
The First Leg of 2019 LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ – China League was held from 28 April – 1 May 2019 (Sunday to Wednesday) at Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club. A total of 94 athletes from Belgium, China, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italy and the Netherlands competed at the event. The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation is happy to share with you that our Hong Kong rider, Patrick Lam won the first Leg of the League.
There were a total of 10 competitions held over four days. Patrick with Newtime De Baussy took part in the Warm-Up competition (1.40m) and Qualifier (1.45m) as well as the First Leg of 2019 LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ – China League on 1 May 2019, Wednesday, which was a one-rounded Jumping competition against the clock with one jump-off at 1.50m. Competing against 33 horse-rider combinations, Patrick achieved the best result of a clear round with the fastest time of 48.32 seconds in the jump-off, making him the winner of the competition. The second and third places were earned by two Chinese riders, namely Yuxing Ma with Elly Van De Boslandhoeve and Jirigala Erdeng with Brikibo Vd Bosbeek respectively.
The 2019 LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ – China League consists of three legs, including the first leg that was held in Tianjin, the second leg to be held in Chengdu at the end of May and the final leg in Beijing Chaoyang Park in October this year. Participating riders around the world will compete for the final ranking of 2019 LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ – China League. Patrick ranked first at the moment.
