Ms. Alice Mak appointed as HKEF National Safety Officer
The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation is pleased to announce that one of our Hong Kong officials, Ms. Alice Mak is appointed as the new HKEF National Safety Officer for 2019 and 2020 following the previous resignation of Mr. Kevin Kruger. The decision is made by the HKEF Rules subcommittee and approved by the HKEF Executive Committee.
The National Safety Officer is a voluntary position based in Hong Kong. The Officer acts as the key liaison person with the FEI on all matters relating to HKEF safety practices and reporting. With reference to the FEI, its job description is listed below:
National Safety Officers (NSOs) are responsible for providing the FEI with:
1. National statistics on bi-annual basis (30 June, 31 December)
2. NSO is a liaison between the NF and the FEI for obtaining the information regarding any international or national (including regional) accidents of rider and horses. The NSO is responsible for filling in the forms on fatal accidents.
3. Spread FEI Eventing Risk Management vision and ideas (awareness) regarding the sport in the NF (for national officials, trainers, coaches, riders, etc.)
Ms. Alice Mak is not only an experienced National Jumping Judge & Steward in Hong Kong, she also attained qualifications as FEI Level 1 Jumping Judge, FEI Level 3 Jumping Steward, FEI Level 2 Dressage Steward and FEI Level 1 Para Dressage Steward. She is an active Hong Kong official who serves in both local and overseas equestrian shows.
