Latest results and rankings of the HKEF Season End Awards 2018/2019 (as of 5 May 2019)

Dear members,

In one week time, our season’s finale – Dressage Horse of the Year Show 2019 will be held from 18-19 May 2019, Saturday-Sunday at Beas River Equestrian Centre and we are honored to have Ms Gena Marjanovic as our Foreign Judge.

After the Dressage Horse of the Year Show 2019, we will announce all the winners of the nine annual Season End Awards. This year, we are delighted to introduce two new awards, sponsored by the HKJC, namely The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best Retired Racehorse Award(香港賽馬會最佳退役馬獎)and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award(香港賽馬會新晉退役馬獎)in addition to the HKEF Seven Annual Season End Awards, namely The Good King Cup, Dragon Hall Dressage Trophy, Eventing Horse of The Year Award, The Helen Griffiths Memorial Trophy, Grimshaw Plate, The Jose Remedios Memorial Trophy and The Wrinklies Rice Bowl.

Dressage Horse of the Year Show 2019

Please be reminded that the entry deadline for the Dressage Horse of the Year Show is next Tuesday 14 May 2019.

Take action and submit your entries now! Do not hesitate to contest for the title and the Horse of the Year Perpetual trophies!

We wish all riders the best of luck and look forward to witnessing the crowing of the Winner of the Dressage Horse of the Year Award 2018/19!

Information of the New Awards sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best Retired Racehorse Award is an award for the best retired racehorse that has competed in all three disciplines (Jumping, Dressage & Eventing) during the season. This Best Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the retired racehorse which has the highest combined HOY ranking according to the ranking lists of the three individual disciplines. Should there be a tie in the combined ranking at the end of the season, the retired racehorses tied for first place will be declared the joint winner for the award.

Meanwhile, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award is an award for the best ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) in each of the disciplines (Jumping, Dressage or Eventing) during their first graded competition season in that discipline. A Best ‘Newcomer’ Retired Racehorse Award will be awarded to the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorse(s) which achieved the highest placing among the ‘newcomer’ retired racehorses according to the HOY ranking list before the end of its first graded competition season in the respective discipline.

HKEF End of Season Awards Ceremony and Celebration Dinner 2019 on 25 May 2019, Saturday

An End-Of-Season Celebration Dinner will be held on the 25 May, 2019 (Saturday) at the Arena Room, New Club House, Beas River Country Club. Cost will be HK$420 per person for the buffet. A cash bar will be available for drinks. All are welcome. The Horse of the Year Perpetual Trophies will be awarded at this event. Preregistration via email on or before 16 May, 2019 (Thursday) 6:00 p.m.. is requested.

Winners of the Horse of the Year Perpetual Trophies will be invited to attend the End-Of-Season Celebration Dinner for free. All competitors of the entire HKEF Horse of the Year Show, including Eventing Horse of the Year Show, the LONGINES Jumping Horse of the Year Show, as well as the Dressage Horse of the Year Show will enjoy 50% discount on the dinner buffet.
