Karen Chan, Bryan Lam, Natasha Lee and Claudia Wrobel obtained their Certificate of Capability in April for the Youth Olympic Games 2018
The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation (HKEF) is pleased to officially announce that Karen Chan, Bryan Lam, Natasha Lee and Claudia Wrobel obtained their Certificate of Capability (CoC) in April for 2018 Buenos Aires 3rd Youth Olympic Games (YOG 2018).
On 22 April, Natasha Lee and Claudia Wrobel on borrowed horses finished with only 5 and 8 penalties respectively at the FEI World Jumping Challenge 2018 in Kaohsiung (3rd Competition – Category A Round 1). This was organised by the Chinese Taipei Equestrian Association as one of the Qualifying competitions for the YOG 2018.
On 28 April, Karen Chan riding All Chances finished with only 4 penalties at the CSI1* Grand Prix / LONGINES Grimshaw Plate of LONGINES Jumping Horse of the Year Show 2018 organized by the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation at Beas River Equestrian Centre.
On 29 April, Bryan Lam on borrowed horse finished with only 1 time penalty at the CSI1* Grand Prix Bonheiden in Belgium.
In order to qualify for the YOG 2018, each rider must obtain a score of not more than eight penalties in the first round of an FEI World Jumping Challenge
Category A to attain a Certificate of Capability (CoC). Under FEI rules, a CoC must be obtained between 1 April 2017 and 31 May 2018.
In addition to Vincent Capol and Edgar Fung, there are a total of six riders who obtained their CoC for the YOG 2018 at this moment. With one more qualifying competition on 19 May, the FEI World Jumping Challenge 2018 in Hong Kong (2nd Competition – Category A Round 1), in which Hong Kong riders are taking part in order to gain their respective CoC, we wish them all the best and look forward to more riders gaining eligibility for the YOG 2018.
