Four Hong Kong junior riders selected for the Australian Interschool Eventing (24-29 April 2019, Wednesday to Monday)
The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation (HKEF) was invited by Tintern Grammar to participate at the 2019 Tintern Grammar 19th Annual Inter-School Victorian Horse Trials Championships (Australian Interschool Eventing). The event will be held from 24 to 29 April 2019 (Wednesday – Monday) at Wandin Park, Australia. We are happy to share with you that after the consideration by our Training and Selection Subcommittee, four Hong Kong junior riders, namely Daniella Lin, Oskar Boekhorst, Leelani Neveux and Matilda Edwards are selected to form our Hong Kong team and compete at the captioned competition. Meanwhile, Mr. Christian Allderidge has been appointed to be the Team Coach.
The Australian Interschool Eventing is a part of the Tintern Grammars 19th Annual Horse Trials to be held in Australia. The event does not only include an international Eventing competition comprising the Jumping, Dressage and Cross Country Phases, but also a series of training sessions, evaluating lessons and clinics which offer a great learning opportunity for the participating riders.
This is the first time in recent years that Hong Kong is sending a team of junior riders to compete in an international Eventing competition on borrowed horses. All four junior riders in our Hong Kong team are active competitors in local Eventing competitions or the One Day Events in Beas River Equestrian Centre. Meanwhile, our Team Coach, Christian is currently a riding instructor from Lo Wu Saddle Club and was the Team Coach of the HKEF Eventing Clinic held in Thailand last year.
The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation would like to wish our Hong Kong team the best of luck at the Australian Interschool Eventing competition!
