Hong Kong senior riders at Longines Masters of Hong Kong 2019
This year, two experienced Hong Kong riders, Jacqueline Lai and Raena Leung will be representing Hong Kong to compete at the Masters. This is the fourth consecutive year since 2016 that Jacqueline competes for Hong Kong with her good partner Basta at the Longines Masters of Hong Kong. Besides, this is the third time for Raena to compete at the event after her participation in the 2013 and 2015 edition. She will be bringing two horses, Folinde van het Slagerahof and Orphee Du Granit to the competition this time. Both riders will be participating in various world-class showjumping competitions during three days of event, such as the HKJC Race of the Riders and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy on first day’s evening (15 February 2019, Friday), competing against over 20 top riders around the world. As two of the participating Asian riders, Jacqueline and Raena will also be competing for the HKJC Asian Challenge, aiming at the prize money of HK$250,000.
Both Jacqueline and Raena are active Hong Kong riders at the international equestrian stage. Jacqueline earned the first place at CSI2* Grand Prix of Sheerwood, Beijing in 2015 and she was the Individual Showjumping Silver medalist at the 12th China National Games in Shenyang. Raena was placed the third at the CSI2* Equifirst Grand Prix in 2018 and she was the overall winner of FEI World Cup Jumping China League in 2012.

These two competitions are presented by the EEM and Hong Kong Equestrian Federation, sub-vented by the Home Affairs Bureau (Arts and Sport Development Fund), supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Our Hong Kong junior riders participating in the event are Vincent Zi-Xiang Capol and Edgar Fung. Vincent and Edgar will compete against 4 top junior riders from China Guangdong, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia and Iran on a borrowed horse basis. They completed an intensive training in Belgium for the upcoming Asian Junior Challenge at the beginning of this month.
Both Vincent and Edgar are current members of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Junior Equestrian Training Squad.
