2009  11th China National Games in Jinan Shantung

The Hong Kong Equestrian Team’s unprecedented success at the 11th National Games in Jinan, the People’s Republic of China
The Hong Kong Equestrian Team, consisting of Samantha Lam, Kenneth Cheng, Patrick Lam and Jacqueline Lai, achieved a historic result at the 11th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, held in Jinan, Shandong province. The team returns from the Games with a record haul of three medals, the best result ever achieved by Hong Kong riders in the National Games.
In the team competition, held on 25 October 2009, the team won the Bronze medal, with only 8 points dividing them and Shanghai Team, the Silver medal winners.
In the individual competition, Patrick Lam and his horse Forrester’s Boy delighted the Hong Kong supporters by jumping a clear round to win the first ever Gold medal for Hong Kong in the equestrian sports at the National Games.
To complete this sensational result, Kenneth Cheng, with his horse, Chairman won the Bronze medal in an exciting jump-off.
