Comprehensive Showjumping Judge Course held on 21 May 2016
Since officials are the backbone of our sport development, training of official is always one of the focuses of our Federation.
Following the kick-off seminar on showjumping held in September 2015 conducted by our Senior Showjumping Judge, Prof. Nigel King, our Deputy Senior Showjumping Judge, Mr. Johnny Mak carried out the second seminar last Saturday, 21 May 2016, aiming at bringing up potential new showjumping judges.
Six members attended the seminar and during the seminar, Mr. Johnny Mak, HKEF Deputy Senior Showjumping Judge explained the criteria of a show jumping judge.
“Before members can become a showjumping judge, they are required to attend three theory sessions on showjumping rules and regulations, one session on stewarding by our Chief Steward, Ms. Alice Mak, one course building session by our Chief Course Designer, Mr. Michael Sin, and the eventing rules session by Mr. James Pearson in this summer. Upon completion of all these sessions, members will be permitted to attend one examination before they can move up to do some shadow judging.” said Mr. Mak.
The seminar was well-received by the attending members. Let’s send them our best wishes and hopefully there will be some new showjumping judges in the next season!
